Single - Control

The final single from the  Committeemen (S)HITS EP, 'Control' takes governmental restrictions to task. Using religious ideology to limit lifesaving healthcare and create dangerous situations for women in Texas and around the country, the powers that be exert backwards methods on the populace to ensure an impoverished workforce dependent on the almighty dollar at the expense of actual rights and freedoms.


Single - Chew



The third single from Committeemen's sophomore EP, 'Chew' is an energetic whirlwind in two parts. Presenting itself as a fast-paced punk track with emphasis on self-realization and exasperation with daily life, it devolves midway into a heavy-hitting, articulate instrumental.


Single - Old Rope



Alternating between dead-pan aphorisms and unbridled chaos, ‘Old Rope’ is the second single from Committeemen’s new EP. Confronting the sometimes nonsensical structure of our day-to-day, frontman DJ Gilmore questions. “If I came in first, then why did I finish last?” A frustration with societal imbalance and personal doubt are met with heavy rhythms and driving force.


Single - Therapy



The first single from Committeemen’s upcoming EP, ‘Therapy’ is a tongue-in-cheek look at the media-obsessed, toxic personalities running rampant in today’s society. Looking for answers to a changing world from podcast hosts and underqualified televangelists, a growing sect of vocal individuals believe that they couldn’t possibly be the problem and that it must be everyone else. “Not me! Not me!” they cry while refusing to accept any narrative but their own.


BIO

It’s time to go home and you’re lost. A shadowy stranger approaches through the swirl of the rodeo crowd and offers a hand. The brim of his 10-gallon hat obscures his face. Hanging at his heart is a leather badge. Adorned with a gold Texas star, it reads: Committeeman.

Committeemen are hard to categorize. Pulling apart myriad influences at the seams and weaving something new from the scraps, they veer into territory occupied by bands like IDLES and Osees while keeping one foot planted in the early post-punk of Gang of Four and the other kicking tires with Parquet Courts.

Committeemen write about what they know: getting pissed off about the Texas Power Grid, grappling with jealousy, or just maligning their friends’ shitty advice over a backdrop of thunderous bass, thumping drums, and a dense whirl of effected guitars.

The band leaves it all on stage every time out. DJ Gilmore-Innis (vocals/guitar), Ken Dannelley (drums), Matt Kast (bass), and Graham Bell (guitar) produce bombastic, sweaty, heart-on-their-sleeves performances that churn the humid Houston night air into a froth.

They continue to build a steady following around their energetic live performances, sharing the stage with local and touring acts like The Dwarves, Big Bill, 30 Foot Fall, and the Phlegms. ‘(S)HITS’, the follow-up EP to the much-lauded 2023 'EXTENDED PLAY', releases Summer 2025 on Rue Defense.
