Bio:

Elly Swope is a recording engineer, multi-instrumentalist, and Portland mainstay, supporting bands like Deathlist, Sunbathe, and Roseblood, among others. Swope’s debut EP, It Feels the Same Everytime, released last year on Brooklyn-based label Rue Defense, garnered acclaim from local and national publications, received airplay on Portland-based stations, including XRAY, Freeform, and OPB, and was featured on the 2019 PDX Pop Now! compilation.

Swope’s newest single, Habits, tackles the intricacies of codependency through a low-key guitar riff that supports Swope’s lilting, fractured vocals. A driving synthesizer line cuts through the mix and introduces an atmosphere that is at once sly and confident while still retaining an air of introspection based on lived events. Habits was written and recorded by Swope with Ayal Alves (Saroon, Siren and the Sea, Kelli Schafer) on synthesizer, and mastered by Amy Dragon at Telegraph Audio
